Travel registered nurse

Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Stepdown Float Pool

Location: Cleveland, OH (Multiple locations throughout OH nearby Cleveland)

Unit: Stepdown Float Pool

Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule:

• Day Shift: 3×12-hour (07:00 – 19:30)
• Night Shift: 3×12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
  Note: Shifts may rotate to support hospital operational needs.
  
  Holidays: Must be available to work every other holiday
  

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Stepdown Float Pool Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, clinically skilled, and capable of floating between multiple Stepdown/PCU units as needed.

This position requires a strong foundation in cardiac and progressive care nursing, as well as the ability to manage diverse patient populations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient care to those in Stepdown and Progressive Care units.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient conditions and implement appropriate interventions.
• Float across Stepdown units as assigned, maintaining consistency and quality of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of permanent Cardiac Stepdown or Progressive Care experience prior to travel.
• Minimum 18 months of recent Stepdown experience (travel experience accepted).
• PCU/Progressive Care experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different unit workflows and patient acuity levels.
• Excellent critical thinking and patient assessment skills.

Education & Certifications

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact State License (required).
• AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) – required.
• AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – required.
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification – required.
