About the Opportunity

UHC Construction Services, a family-owned National Commercial General Contractor based in Northfield, Ohio, is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to support the successful execution of commercial construction projects across the country.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving construction environment. The Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and clients to keep projects organized, documented, and moving forward.

This is not a general office admin role. The Project Coordinator supports Project Managers while also owning assigned coordination tasks, follow-up items, documentation, and project communication. UHC is looking for someone who takes responsibility, follows through, and can shift priorities when urgent project needs arise.

UHC serves national retail, restaurant, hospitality, grocery, healthcare, automotive, and commercial clients through remodels, rollouts, build-outs, fixture and graphic installations, digital installations, and ground-up projects. The company offers long-term stability, national project exposure, and a collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of multiple commercial construction projects from startup through closeout.

  • Assist with contract administration, change order processing, submittals, purchasing, cost coding, project documentation, and closeout.

  • Coordinate communication between Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, clients, and internal office teams.

  • Track project schedules, milestones, action items, materials, manpower, subcontractor activity, permits, inspections, deliveries, and closeout requirements.

  • Help gather and organize pricing, proposals, certificates of insurance, lien waivers, closeout documents, field reports, progress photos, and other project materials.

  • Maintain accurate project files, logs, drawings, specifications, digital documentation, and customer portal updates.

  • Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to support material ordering and scope verification.

  • Perform basic quantity checks or simple takeoffs for items such as flooring, tile, bathroom accessories, fixtures, or other vendor-supplied materials.

  • Help ensure subcontractors and vendors have the information they need to complete work safely, accurately, and on schedule.

  • Prioritize competing requests from multiple Project Managers, field teams, and project deadlines.

  • Escalate issues when information is missing, priorities conflict, or project execution is at risk.

  • Support a high-volume workflow across multiple commercial projects and national client accounts.

What We’re Looking For
  • Required Qualifications
    • 2+ years of experience in construction coordination, project administration, subcontractor coordination, facilities coordination, trade coordination, or a related construction support role.

    • Experience communicating with subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, field teams, or project teams.

    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, requests, and follow-up items at once.

    • Clear, professional communication skills by phone, email, and internal systems.

    • Strong attention to detail and comfort maintaining accurate project records.

    • Ability to read, organize, and track construction documents, project scopes, specifications, or plans.

    • Ability to work full-time from UHC’s Northfield, OH office.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets, and digital project documentation tools.

  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Prior experience as a Project Coordinator, Construction Coordinator, Project Administrator, Facilities Coordinator, or similar role.

    • Experience in commercial construction, retail construction, restaurant construction, hospitality, national rollouts, remodels, or fast-paced tenant improvement work.

    • Experience working for a general contractor, subcontractor, trade contractor, signage company, HVAC contractor, electrical contractor, window/siding company, facilities company, or similar construction-related business.

    • Familiarity with construction schedules, subcontractor scopes, RFIs, submittals, change orders, cost coding, purchase orders, daily reports, and closeout documentation.

    • Ability to read basic blueprints or willingness to learn how to review drawings and specifications for material ordering.

    • Experience with Sage, Monday.com, Airtable, Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, customer portals, or similar construction/project management systems.

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

What Makes Someone Successful Here
  • You can stay organized while supporting several active projects at once.

  • You know how to follow up without letting details fall through the cracks.

  • You can stop one task, handle an urgent field or subcontractor issue, then return to your original work.

  • You understand that the loudest request is not always the most important request.

  • You are comfortable asking questions, escalating issues, and taking ownership of your assigned work.

  • You enjoy being part of a team that moves quickly and values practical problem-solving.

  • You want a stable, long-term opportunity in construction operations.

This emphasis reflects the call feedback: UHC wants someone who can prioritize competing PM and field requests, take ownership of their side of the project, and operate with responsibility rather than needing heavy micromanagement.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $55,000–$65,000 annual salary, depending on experience.

  • Full-time position.

  • 401(k) retirement savings program.

  • Profit sharing.

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Paid vacation / PTO.

  • Referral bonus program.

  • Company events, outings, and annual trips.

  • Training and certification opportunities, including manufacturer training, OSHA, fall protection, lift certifications, and construction-related development.

Client confirmed the $55K–$65K range during the onboarding call and noted they currently have multiple people in this role/range.

Growth & Development

UHC provides opportunities for team members to build construction knowledge over time. Project Coordinators may gain exposure to project management workflows, blueprint reading, scheduling, vendor coordination, client communication, and commercial construction operations.

UHC also discussed partnering with Akron College for construction-related certificate training, including blueprint reading and scheduling. The client stated UHC pays upfront for this training.
