Field service technician

Summary:
Perform on-site installation, service, preventative maintenance, site surveys, repair and service on a variety of beverage dispensing equipment at customer locations and facilities. Provide customer support activities for equipment. Serve as on-site customer contact on technical and service-related problems. Instruct customers in proper use and operation of equipment. Assure highest level of customer satisfaction and drink quality.
Location: Toledo, Ohio
Territory: Northern Ohio and some parts of Michigan
Company-Provided: Commercial vehicle, phone, and tablet for business use
Schedule: Flexible schedule with occasional on-call shifts, weekends, and varying work hours
Key Responsibilities

Receive dispatched service calls via dispatcher, cell phone, voice mail or other company methods and ensure prompt response.

Diagnose and repair reported service issues; perform quality drink checks (ratio/brix, temperature, taste).

Perform preventative maintenance as needed.

Train customers in maintaining equipment; report misuse to supervisor.

Follow up with accounts until calls are completed; update manager and dispatcher as needed.

Close out all calls promptly and accurately on handheld or dispatch system.

Maintain accurate parts and equipment inventories.

Keep company vehicle clean and organized; schedule routine maintenance.

Operate and manage company-issued vehicle, tools, and equipment per guidelines.

Support dispatcher in routing and prioritization of calls as needed.

Travel throughout the region for projects as necessary.

Act as liaison between manager and sales team regarding customer concerns.

Identify growth opportunities (flavor changes, new products, competitive presence) and communicate to manager and sales partners.

Complete all applicable safety programs and processes.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High School diploma and technical school certification required.

Prior beverage, refrigeration, plumbing, and electronic experience preferred.

Valid driver's license with fewer than 2 moving violations.

Basic mechanical aptitude required.

Ability to apply basic skills and techniques to resolve routine issues.

Basic computer and data equipment skills.

Flexibility to work on-call shifts, weekends, and varying schedules year-round.

Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move heavy equipment short distances with minimal assistance. Frequently required to lift up to 60 lbs.
Work Environment
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, and risk of electrical shock. Frequent exposure to basic cleaning chemicals.
