Overview
Our client—a well-established online retail and digital marketplace enterprise located in the Greater Cincinnati area—is searching for a strategic Head of People to drive their human capital function forward.
They need an HR executive who can merge forward-thinking leadership with hands-on execution—an individual who excels in dynamic, collaborative environments and operates effectively across both strategic planning and operational implementation.

Primary Accountabilities
- Manage complete HR operational functions including policy development, employee relations matters, compensation strategy (including market analysis and program structure), benefits administration, payroll coordination, adherence to labor regulations, third-party vendor oversight, and technology platform assessment and deployment
- Build and mentor the HR function while establishing scalable systems, and direct enterprise-wide training and development programs
- Foster workforce engagement via cultural programs, feedback mechanisms, response planning, and enhanced cross-organizational communications, while promoting corporate principles and cultivating cross-functional partnerships
- Direct comprehensive talent lifecycle activities encompassing recruitment, integration, retention strategies, performance systems, succession frameworks, and leadership growth—with willingness to participate directly in hiring efforts as necessary
- Function as a strategic consultant to senior leadership regarding organizational structure, headcount strategy, talent priorities, cultural evolution, and transformation initiatives connected to operational enhancements and business evolution
- Collaborate with management on continuity planning, executive development programs, and group performance optimization
Requirements
- Management approach focused on empowering teams while ensuring ownership and achieving outcomes
- Proven capability deploying contemporary HR technology solutions and leveraging advanced tools including AI to enhance efficiency
- Exceptional relationship-building skills combined with thoughtful decision-making and effective communication in both written and verbal formats
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with executive leadership during phases of company expansion or organizational transition
- Minimum 10 years of progressive human resources experience with clear advancement into senior leadership positions
- Thorough knowledge of applicable employment legislation at both federal and state levels, current HR methodologies, and people analytics
Additional Desired Experience
- Familiarity with mergers and acquisitions, integration projects, or accelerated organizational evolution
- Openness to AI adoption with practical application experience
- Expertise managing distribution center and non-exempt employee populations
- Track record supporting geographically dispersed or hybrid/remote team structures
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or comparable discipline
- Industry background in digital commerce, online marketplaces, supply chain operations, or customer-centric sectors
Benefits
Annual Base Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000
Paid Leave:
- 15 days Paid Time Off (PTO)
- 9 company holidays

Travel Expectations:
