Coordinator of Experiential Learning

Muskingum University invites applications for a Coordinator of Experiential Learning. This position plays a critical role in coordinating internships, service learning, civic engagement, and supporting the administration of the University Fellows Programs. The position works collaboratively with faculty, employers, and community partners to ensure that students engage in meaningful, high impact experiences. This role provides essential administrative and stewardship support for several programs funded by grants and donors.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Experiential Learning & Internship Coordination

  • Work as part of the Impact Center team to develop internship opportunities and serve as a liaison to faculty and employers regarding those opportunities.
  • Provide one-on-one appointments with students seeking guidance on resume development, exploring majors or careers, and experiential learning options.
  • Present Impact Center workshops on professional development, including resume building and networking.
  • Track and maintain experiential learning data, including type and location of experience, skills developed, and participant satisfaction, to support assessment and reporting.
  • Assist the Director of Career Development and Experiential Learning with record keeping for the university Fellows program.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for student workers, including receiving schedule changes and attendance updates. Oversee their daily responsibilities and monitor, verify, and approve timesheets.

High-Impact Experience Grants & Budget Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of the Impact Center on the High-Impact Experience Grant process, including student outreach, application monitoring, and tracking.
  • Assist with administering grant budgets, disbursements, and reporting requirements in coordination with the Senior Director of the Impact Center and the Office of Institutional Advancement.
  • Contribute ideas to improve access and utilization of experiential learning funds.

Outreach, Promotion & Assessment

  • Develop and manage engaging social media content to increase student awareness and participation, working independently and in collaboration with Student Ambassadors for campaigns such as Instagram Lives, stories, and other interactive features.
  • Assist with the design of marketing materials, event promotions, and website content for the Impact Center overall, ensuring consistent branding and outreach across all programs and services.
  • Track participation, outcomes, and feedback by using appropriate software tools—such as Excel, Microsoft Teams, or other platforms—to collect and analyze data, including social media engagement metrics.
  • Support assessment and reporting for continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, marketing, non-profit administration, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, employers, and community partners.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management, marketing design tools, and website content creation.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience in career services, higher education, service learning, or related experiential education programs.
  • Experience with donor stewardship or grant-funded program coordination.
  • Familiarity with liberal arts education, service-learning pedagogy, and online career development platforms.
