Job Summary

The Commercial Risk Advisor is responsible for generating new clients from prospecting and lead generation, to closing the sale. As a producer, you will also maintain a book of business by becoming a trusted advisor to clients through risk management plans and solutions designed specifically for your clients’ businesses.

Responsibilities:

New Sales:

Generate leads and a maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities through outbound prospecting, including cold calling, referrals, strategic relationships, drop-ins, emails, and LinkedIn

Prequalify insurance prospects for insurability and quality of risk

Survey loss exposures, needs, and possible uninsurable or difficult to insure exposures for clients

Design insurance program and prepare proposal for risk management solutions

Make sales presentation to prospective clients

Close accounts with the support of your experienced mentors

Retention of Current Clients:

Work with current clients to review coverage annually or as needed

Cross-sell or up-sell based on needs of client

Maintain relationships of existing clients and coverages to reach a set retention goal

Personal and Organizational Development:

Participate in sales meetings

Identify market trends to improve overall marketing strategy

Learn and use the Beyond Insurance Risk Management Process

Requirements:

Business-to-Business sales experience and skills

Insurance license must be obtained within first 30 days of employment

Strong network of local business contacts

Bachelor Degree preferred, but not required

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with prospects, clients, and carriers.
