Travel Nurse Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (Travel Nursing)
• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Unit: 21 East and West, HN and Neuro (Mixed Acuity – PCU and Med/Surg patients)
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940–$1990 per week
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Scheduling: Facility-determined schedule; flexibility required (may include weekends)
• Orientation: First week Mon-Fri dayshift; second week 36hrs on-unit with preceptor

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry required
• Active compact or Ohio state RN license (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• BCLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skills: IV starts, telemetry, tracheostomy management
• Ability to float to other Med/Surg Oncology units as needed
• Two professional references required (one from manager/director or formal leadership)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with mixed acuity (PCU and Med/Surg)
• Care for patients with head and neck cancers, neuro-oncology, and brain tumors
• Perform tracheostomy care, suctioning, and inner cannula changes
• Initiate and manage IVs, telemetry monitoring, and drain management (JP, Hemovacs)
• Follow strict infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy
• Utilize GE telemetry systems, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as required
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic charting system
