A well-established Akron law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience representing employers and insurers in workers' compensation matters, including claims, hearings, and related litigation. Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Ohio Bar in good standing
• 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation or insurance defense litigation
• Strong knowledge of Ohio workers' compensation laws and Industrial Commission procedures
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to handle a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills
• Trial or hearing experience before the Industrial Commission preferred

Responsibilities

• Represent employers and insurers in workers' compensation claims, hearings, and appeals
• Manage cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, and motion practice
• Draft pleadings, position statements, motions, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and develop effective defense strategies
• Advise clients on claims management, exposure, and compliance issues
• Attend hearings and mediations before the Industrial Commission of Ohio
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide timely case updates
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective and efficient case handling
