Machinist Technician – Wellston, OH

As a part of our manufacturing group, you will be responsible for supporting production packaging and processing operations, sanitation and participation in startup, changeover, and shutdown of operating equipment.

Shift hours:

8-hour shift: Currently hiring for 2nd Shift.

• Current opening is on 2nd shift: 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency events
• Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days per week

Pay:

• Starting pay $26.15
• Up to $31.15 per hour (increases are based on successfully passing skill program assessments)
• Additional $0.25 per hour for hours worked on 2 nd and 3rd shifts
• Annual negotiated increases
• Pay for Skills Program available to get to maximum pay

What your day will look like:

• Knowledge using metal lathe, milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, metal break and metal shear, plasma cutting, metal forming, welders, acetylene torches, Blanchard grinding and metal cutting saws
• Must be able to employ precision measurement tools to correct applications; calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, radius gauges, machine levels etc.
• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
• Strong CNC programming and CAD drafting skills are highly desirable
• Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of industrial processing and packaging machinery, tools, and equipment
• Participate in continuous improvement programs designed to optimize platform performance
• Must be proficient in working from CAD drawings
• Must be willing to complete and pass forklift training
• Assists in training new employees as needed

What you have to offer:

• Minimum of a high school education or GED
• 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent education in machining and/or fabricating
• Experience in computer skills, Maximo, Microsoft Office
• Must demonstrate machining skills through a practical assessment using provided drawings

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
• Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required
• Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
• Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery
• Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
