Electrical Engineer

Job Description

This role focuses on supporting the design and documentation of electrical equipment, components, and systems for construction projects. The Electrical Engineer prepares basic electrical plans and cost estimates, performs calculations, and contributes to the development of construction documents while collaborating closely with field and design teams. This position offers the opportunity to apply electrical engineering principles using modern design tools and to gain experience across both office-based design and field-based observation work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic electrical plan details and outlines for equipment, components, and systems in support of broader engineering activities.

• Develop cost estimates and perform engineering calculations to support electrical system design and project planning.

• Gather, organize, and record technical information and data for use in the preparation of construction documents.

• Assist in the preparation and coordination of construction drawings and related documentation using Revit and other tools.

• Review vendor shop drawings and submittals to verify compliance with project specifications and design requirements.

• Collaborate with field observation colleagues to perform field observations, tests, and measurements related to electrical systems.

• Collect field data and prepare clear, accurate field reports and related documentation.

• Coordinate with internal team members to ensure electrical designs align with project goals, standards, and schedules.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Revit for electrical design and documentation.

• Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and practices.

• Ability to perform basic electrical calculations and develop cost estimates.

• Skill in reviewing vendor shop drawings and submittals for compliance with specifications.

• Ability to gather, organize, and record technical information for construction documents.

• Capability to conduct field observations, tests, and measurements and document findings clearly.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using Revit in a professional or academic engineering environment.

• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and calculations.

• Effective communication skills for coordinating with design and field teams.

• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and documentation requirements.

This is a Permanent position based out of Dayton, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Full medical, dental, and vision insurance. Ability to contribute to 401k. Flexibility with schedule.
