Part - Time Skilled Laborer
Summary: The Skilled Laborer position will perform industrial painting and material handling duties while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Job Functions:- Apply industrial coatings and paint to fabricated parts and equipment according to specifications.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, masking, grinding, or sanding as required.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to move materials and finished products safely.
- Load and unload materials, equipment, and shipments.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Assist with general shop duties and other production-related tasks as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in industrial painting, shot blasting, material handling, manufacturing, or related trades preferred.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes, or willingness to be trained.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Industrial/manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and material handling.
- Requires use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel‑toe boots.
- May require weekend work depending on production needs.
