Technical Sales Engineer - OEM and New Construction
Salary : $60,000-$70,000 base ($100,000 -$150,000 OTE)
Requirements : 4-year Technical Degree in a Mechanical, Electrical, other relevant Engineering field OR 5 years technical HVAC selling experience required.
Business Development Manager Job Description:The Business Development Manager is at the forefront of customer acquisition for Melink Corporation and plays a vital role in the achievement of revenue and profitability goals for our company. This position will report to the Outside Sales Team Lead and or the General Manager of the Intelli-Hood Business. Business Development Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the short and long terms plans necessary to achieve the top line sales target growth rates and profitability for assigned Intelli-Hood OEM and New Construction markets.
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals and energy savings reports to prospective customers, food service and mechanical specifiers, and bidders in a consistent and professional manner.
- Prospect, create and maintain strong relationships with reoccurring customers, while tracking sales activity and records in HubSpot.
- Personally track key sales indicators such as, quoting volume, forecast accuracy and revenue compared to budgets, to gauge performance and identify any gaps in that performance.
- Work with architects, engineers, and consultants on proper specification and project applications of Melink’s Intelli-Hood system.
- Work with the marketing team in specifying the key factors in identifying target prospect companies in OEM and New Construction markets.
- Attend trade shows, seminars, events, etc. to promote Melink products and services.
- Become an ambassador for Melink products and services within the industry and serve as an effective customer advocate to enhance the customer’s experience and impressions.
- Any other job duties as assigned.
- Up to 30% travel required (self-directed).
- Technical degree (BSE or Equivalent) from a four-year college or university; at least four years technical sales experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to review and interpret construction documentation and design prints for the takeoff of pertinent information.
- Technical Sales experience within the new construction field and/or a minimum of 2+ years of technical sales experience.
- Demonstrated and proven sales results.
- Be commercially orientated and well versed in negotiations, business development as well as bid/proposal creation to include all materials and services to be performed.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, in-person and via virtual meeting platforms, from groups of managers, specifiers, kitchen hood manufacturers, owners, and the public.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must have superior customer service skills (i.e., excellent written and verbal communication skills, high emotional intelligence, positive attitude, and a service leadership philosophy).
- Proven problem-solving record desired.
- Must possess a strong work ethic and a high level of personal accountability.
- Proficient with MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience with ERP (SAP) systems desired.
