Step into Precision as a CNC Programmer–Machinist

You bring a solid machining foundation and a curiosity to master more. At Dunaway, you’ll contribute on day one—confidently reading prints, choosing the right raw stock, and machining parts to spec with minimal oversight. You’re comfortable with G-code, at home on Haas controls, and familiar with practices common to 2014‑vintage equipment.

A day in your first weeks

• Start by reviewing drawings and confirming tolerances, surface finishes, and critical callouts.
• Select material and fixtures, then perform efficient setups on Haas VMCs/HMCs or lathes.
• Load or adjust G-code programs, make on-the-fly offsets, and machine parts to print.
• Verify dimensions, inspect to GD&T, and document results before closing the job.
• Rotate to manual mills/lathes or boring mills as needed to complete operations.

What you’ll grow into

• Independently set up, program, and machine parts to drawing specifications.
• Working knowledge of G code and conversational programming.
• Working knowledge of machining steel and flame‐cut parts.
• Knowledge of how to machine with high‐speed inserts.
• Read and understand drawings to ensure all requirements are met.
• Ensure all parts are checked for dimensional accuracy and quality before completing a job.
• Ability to also operate other manual equipment (vertical and horizontal boring mills, lathes, etc).

What you already bring

• Graduate of a formal training program.
• Up to 5 years of manual machining experience.
• Up to 3 years programming and operating using a Haas panel.
• Proven ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T and machine to tight tolerances (down to 0.0005").
• Hands-on familiarity with G-code editing, CNC tooling, troubleshooting, and production setups.

Work environment & schedule

• Climate-controlled, clean shop with exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
• No mandatory overtime or weekends; OT offered when possible.

Pay: Based on experience.
