Full-Time Veterinary Receptionist

Central Ohio's Programs for Animal Welfare is a small non-profit veterinary clinic and animal rescue dedicated to promoting animal welfare and providing comprehensive care for animals in need. COPAW was founded in response to an overwhelming community need for accessible preventative medicine for animals, as well as education for families who have the best interests of their companions at heart. It is our mission to provide affordable sterilization, vaccines, and behavioral and nutritional counseling to all members of our community, regardless of their financial status. Additionally, COPAW operates a foster and adoption program, and is developing a cat café with behaviorally appropriate housing for adoptable felines, with the goal of finding permanent, loving homes for as many in-need animals as possible, and has developed an international outreach program in Oaxaca, Mexico.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This immediately available position offers both full-time hours ranging from 32-40 hours per week, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about animal care to make a difference in the lives of animals and contribute to our mission. This position is great for someone looking to ease into HQHVSN and rescue work/shelter medicine.

Responsibilities:
- Field shelter intakes and assist with patient admission and discharge from surgery
- Answer emails and handle inquiries from pet owners and the general public
- Fill prescriptions and prepare syringes and vaccinations
- Assist with animal restraint and handling during procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the facilities

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
- Basic knowledge of animal health and behavior
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment|
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is required.
- Moderate computer literacy is required. We use software like Monday.com, Microsoft Office Suite, Google products (GMail, Drive, Docs), Wix, Meta Business Suite, and Marblism. Experience with these platforms is not required.
- Experience with Shelterluv a plus.

Work Schedule:
Working hours will fall between 7:00AM - 5:00PM Monday through Friday.

Compensation and Benefits:
- After a 90-day probationary period, the candidate is entitled to free annual vaccinations for up to two pets and a 15% discount on vaccinations for additional pets, PTO, medical, vision and dental insurance policies, unlimited un-paid time off, and an annual uniform stipend.
