Studio Assistant (Operations Track) – Full Time
Common Thread | Xenia, OHPay: $15/hour + tips
Hours: Full-time (40 hrs/week)
Schedule: Weekdays with weekend availability preferred
About the Role
Common Thread is a community-centered rug tufting and fiber arts studio in downtown Xenia. We’re looking for a reliable, organized Studio Assistant to help run the studio day-to-day and grow with us.
You’ll often be the primary person on shift , responsible for opening and closing the shop, hosting guests, and keeping operations running smoothly.
This role has a clear growth path toward Studio Manager / Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
- Open and close the studio independently
- Run the shop during scheduled hours (12–6pm; workshops may extend later)
- Lead or assist tufting workshops (training provided)
- Greet guests and provide a welcoming experience
- Maintain a clean, organized studio
- Manage basic scheduling, inventory, and communication
- Assist with administrative tasks and light social media
- Help improve systems and workflows as the studio grows
Requirements
- Highly reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working alone and making decisions
- Organized and task-oriented
- Strong people and communication skills
- Comfortable with basic tech (Google Docs, spreadsheets, scheduling tools)
Nice to have:
- Interest in art, craft, or creativity
- Experience in retail, hospitality, or operations
