The Distillation Operator for the Lithium Line is responsible for monitoring and operating distillation unit equipment of the recycling lithium batteries while ensuring the machine produces high quality products, runs smoothly and at capacity and is properly maintained.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Complies with and ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
• Daily set up of equipment for operation.
• Operate equipment according to SOPs.
• Conduct routine rounds and operations tasks including logging information for EHS requirements (RTO Opacity readings).
• Monitor all equipment in the distillation area including Distillation, distillate loading, Hot oil, N2 system, outside sumps, and the cooling tower.
• Load Tanker trucks for distillate.
• Monitor and record any deviations of operating parameters or any environmental non-compliances.
• Take routine samples.
• Work with team members to communicate assistance and additional resources to the supervisor.
• Monitor and make adjustments to equipment when necessary to improve performance.
• Clean Equipment and maintain cleanliness in the work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Frequently lift 10-40 pounds individually, and over 40 pounds with a team member.
• Forklift experience.
• Knowledge of machinery and tools.
• Understanding of operating procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Attention to detail.
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• Able to learn to work an HMI screen with PLC controls.
• Lockout/Tagout experience.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GEDPLC Experience
