Maintenance Staff
The Village of Danville is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Staff to support daily public works operations. This part-time role offers hands-on work in infrastructure maintenance, groundskeeping, and equipment operation, with the potential to transition into a full-time position. Compensation is based on experience and skill level.
Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Maintenance *: * Assist with the repair and upkeep of water, sewer, and stormwater lines.

Groundskeeping: Perform mowing, landscaping, leaf and debris removal, and general outdoor maintenance.

Equipment Operation: Safely operate backhoes, tractors, jackhammers, snowplows, and other heavy or specialized equipment.

General Maintenance: Support basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and facility repair tasks.

Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures when using tools, machinery, and vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.

Class B CDL preferred; required for certain equipment and snowplow operation.

1--3 years of experience in maintenance, construction, landscaping, or related work.

Ability to lift 50--100 lbs regularly, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical or trade skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in municipal, public works, or utility maintenance.

Certifications such as CPR/First Aid, welding, or HVAC.

Willingness to work on-call shifts, weekends, and during emergency repairs.
