Engineering Project Manager

Position Summary
The Engineering Project Manager will lead critical product development initiatives within STERIS’s Reprocessing PMO, overseeing capital and consumable product programs that support a multi‑billion‑dollar portfolio. This role drives executive‑level project reviews, ensures compliance with PMO processes, and manages small to medium projects from concept through manufacturing. With responsibility for cross‑functional planning, risk management, and continuous improvement, the Engineering PM provides clear leadership and accountability across teams.
This Mentor, Ohio–based hybrid role offers high visibility and the opportunity to directly influence STERIS’s innovation and operational excellence in healthcare reprocessing.
What You'll Do As A Project Manager
- Lead project reviews, ensure PM process compliance, and manage small/medium project.
- Oversee full project management of product development, including cross‑functional planning to meet quality, cost, reliability, and manufacturability goals.
- Monitor schedules, budgets, and team performance while identifying risks, driving mitigations, and promoting accountability.
- Plan and lead Sponsor‑level reviews for Capital and Sustaining projects, ensuring clear communication of progress and risks.
- Ensure adherence to PM processes, stage‑gate requirements, and resource tool updates across teams.
- Conduct regular status meetings and technical discussions to expedite issue resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating outcomes, tracking KPIs, and implementing lessons learned.
- Develop integrated schedules and budgets, delivering NPD plans at stage gates and VP‑level reviews.
- Identify dependencies, risks, and contingency plans, proactively monitoring schedule and cost impacts.
The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed
Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years’ experience in project management associated with product development in a regulated industry, preferably medical.
- Experience leading projects from initial concept, through development and verification/validation testing, and into Manufacturing.
Preferred:
- Strong planning, organization, attention to detail, follow‑through, and proactive risk management; PMP a plus
- Proven leadership skills in conflict resolution, negotiation, and driving results.
- Ability to lead, collaborate, and ensure PM process compliance across project teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, influence, and communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills.
- Successful track record managing projects through a product development stage gate process, delivering on schedule and budget.

Pay range for this opportunity is $105,000.00 - $115,000.00. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
