Social Services Worker 2

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Services Worker II to join our team. This position will primarily be ongoing with on call and investigation duties as needed. In this vital role, you will provide support and intervention services to individuals and families facing complex social challenges. Duties

• Investigate claims of abuse and neglect of children and families
• Maintain caseload of families that have been determined to require the protective assistance of the agency
• Take initial complaints and make contact with the family
• Interview families and children to determine validity of allegations and complete safety and risk assessments
• Testify in court hearings
• Coordinates services and make referrals to community resources
• Transports children and families; travels to foster homes, group homes, and residential facilities as needed
• Serve as an on-call worker in rotation for after hours needs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology or a related field or ability to obtain a bachelor's degree no later than 5 years after the date of employment with the agency commences.
• Associates degree in human services related studies
• Been employed for at least 5 years in a human service related occupation.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
