Electrical Engineer

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES:
Responsible for the maintenance and reliability of the Plant power distribution system and process line equipment including AC systems utilizing 23kV, 4.16kV, 2.3kV, 480V, 230V, 120V and DC systems rated at 250VDC, Plant rotating equipment, and air compressors, as they directly impact the Plants safety, environmental, quality, and production requirements.
Manage and coordinate the Maintenance Department or contracted personnel for maintenance and engineering projects, which improve the Plants power distribution equipment reliability.
Coordinate contracted work, providing job specifications, work placement determinations for contracted services, and conduct on site safety orientations with contracted personnel.
Prepare drawings and specifications for equipment and materials to be installed in the power distribution system, with a focus on improvement of cost and time efficiency as they relate to new equipment installation. Controls expenditures within limitations of project and department budgets.
Inspect and test completed installations for conformance with design and equipment specifications, as well as safety standards.
Prepare Quality Standard Maintenance Practices for equipment maintenance and operation
Prepare Lock Out/Tag Out/Try Out procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
Develop maintenance and testing procedures to improve equipment reliability and personnel safety.
Complete a Failure Analysis report related to the Maintenance Department equipment failures.
Provide supervision with the information necessary to meet emergency situations. Respond to all calls regarding power outages, equipment failures, and production delays, and locate the resources required to return equipment to an operational condition.
Plan and coordinate work assignments for electricians for a 24-hour operation. Schedule new work, follow-up on completed work and order materials as necessary to achieve 100 percent reliability.
Plan and schedule preventative and predictive maintenance on the electrical distribution system and process equipment.
Support and maintain the HVAC for the Plant.
Support and maintain all overhead cranes, hoists, and trolleys.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology OR equivalent relevant experience
Experience supervising or readiness to supervise
Proven communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and time management skills
Willing to perform duties on different shifts as required by scheduled maintenance outages, breakdowns, or project work.
Preferred Requirements
Three years of engineering experience in an industrial environment
Proven success in the ability to supervise
Working knowledge of industrial wiring, controls, and instrumentation
Experience with PLCs, AC/DC drives, and HMI setup, programming, and configuration
