Mechanic
Motor Transportation Operator (Truck Driver) - U.S. Army.
Full-time | Part-time | Enlistment Required | U.S. Citizenship or Green Card Required.
Enlistment Required:
- This job requires enlistment into the United States Army. No prior experience needed.
Overview:
- Motor transportation operators are responsible for supervising or operating wheel vehicles to transport personnel and cargo.
- They are the backbone of the Army’s support and sustainment structure, providing advanced mobility.
Job Duties:
- Operate all-wheel vehicles and equipment over varied terrain and roadways.
- Manage loading, unloading, and safety of personnel being transported.
Training:
- 10 weeks Basic Combat Training followed by 7 weeks Advanced Individual Training.
- Training includes classroom instruction, simulation training, and over 200 hours of hands-on vehicle and field training.
Skills You’ll Learn:
- Oversee and check proper loading and unloading of cargo on vehicles and trailers.
- Identify, correct, or report vehicle deficiencies.
- Prepare vehicles for movement or shipment by air, rail, or vessel.
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or I-551 cardholder.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a criminal background check with no open law violations.
- Pass a drug screen.
- Be in good health with no physical limitations.
Compensation:
- $40,000 to $80,000 per year.
- Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time.
Earn Cash for In-Demand Jobs:
- Eligible for up to $40,000 in enlistment bonuses for certain Military Occupational Specialties.
