Job Description
Aramark at Rocket Arena is seeking Upscale Fine Dining Hostess/Host to join our team for the 2025-26 Cavs Season at our new all-inclusive fine dining club opening this season.
The Hostess at our upscale restaurant is the first point of contact for all guests and sets the tone for their dining experience. The ideal candidate is a polished, articulate, and highly professional individual with a warm and welcoming demeanor. This role is crucial for managing the flow of the dining room, ensuring guest satisfaction from arrival to departure, and maintaining the elegant atmosphere of our establishment. The Hostess is an integral part of the front-of-house team, working closely with servers, bussers, and management to provide a seamless and memorable experience for every guest.
Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.
Job Responsibilities
Guest Reception and Seating:
• Greet all guests with a genuine, friendly, and professional welcome upon arrival.
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists efficiently using a reservation system.
• Strategically seat guests in a way that balances the workload of the serving staff and optimizes the dining room flow.
• Escort guests to their tables with grace and a clear, polite introduction to their server.
• Handle special requests, such as high chairs, booster seats, or specific seating preferences, with discretion and a "can-do" attitude.
Reservation Management
• Answer phone calls with impeccable phone etiquette, handling inquiries, and taking reservations accurately.
• Proactively manage reservations, being mindful of start of game and if guests will require a table at halftime.
• Proactively relay members arrival to server with any special requests, allergies, etc.
• Confirm reservations and follow up and record no-shows as needed.
Guest Relations and Service:
• Anticipate and address guest needs and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a pristine and organized host stand and entrance area.
• Assist with guest coat check services.
• Handle guest departures, offering a warm farewell and inviting them to return.
• Act as a liaison between the front-of-house and kitchen staff to manage the pace of service.
Atmosphere and Ambiance:
• Ensure the dining room and entrance areas are consistently clean, tidy, and visually appealing.
• Assist in setting the ambiance by ensuring lighting, music, and table settings are to the restaurant’s standards.
• Be knowledgeable about the restaurant's menu, specials, and wine list to answer general questions and make informed recommendations
Team Collaboration:
• Communicate effectively with management, servers, and bussers to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist the front-of-house team with duties as needed, such as light bussing or refilling water, during busy periods.
• Participate in pre-shift meetings to stay informed about special events, large parties, and menu changes.

Qualifications
• Previous experience in a high-volume or upscale restaurant environment is highly preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on polished verbal communication.
• A professional and well-groomed appearance that aligns with the restaurant's upscale brand.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with reservation software is a plus.
• A calm and composed demeanor, especially under pressure.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and providing an outstanding guest experience.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods (e.g., 6-8 hours).
• Ability to walk, bend, and move around the dining room with ease.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15-20 pounds.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
