CVICU RN Job Details

• Location: Akron, Ohio 44304 (Ohio nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens, travel nursing contract
• Start Date: September 14, 2025
• End Date: January 3, 2026
• Contract Duration: 16 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2160–$2210 per week
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 (may go up to 1:3)
• Scrub Color: Solid black

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN)
• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) – Nursys verification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU RN experience with open-heart patients
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Recent EPIC charting experience (within the last year, listed on resume)
• Proficient in lab draws and IV initiation
• Completed CVICU Skills Checklist (required upon submission)
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in the CVICU
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Utilize EPIC for accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Independently obtain labs and initiate IVs as required
• Float to other critical care units as needed
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and best practices
