Engineering Manager - Akron
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering team, including resource allocation, goal setting, and performance management.
- Oversee the full engineering lifecycle—from concept, design, and prototyping to testing, validation, and product launch.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments (Product, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.) to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, product quality, design efficiency, and team productivity.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards, documentation practices, and product development processes.
- Support hiring, training, and development of engineers to ensure strong team capability and retention.
- Monitor KPIs and metrics to track team performance, project progress, and product quality.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and review of designs, analyses, and test plans as needed.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software, etc.); Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of engineering experience with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams in a fast-paced, technical environment.
- Strong understanding of product development processes, engineering tools, and quality systems.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in engineering software tools (CAD, PLM, project management platforms).
