Restaurant assistant manager
Job Description
Seeking a Restaurant Assistant Manager in the Cincinnati area to support the Restaurant Manager of a sports bar and grill in a casino property by overseeing daily operations, including staff supervision, training, and customer service, as well as managing inventory, finances, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Hire, schedule, train, and manage restaurant staff

Recommend employee actions such as raises, promotions, or disciplinary measures

Understand and align daily operations with department goals, standards, and budget and adjust schedules based on business needs

Help grow revenue by improving menu offerings, service quality, portion control, and reducing waste

Ensure excellent customer service and resolve any complaints or questions

Monitor servers, bus persons and other staff members to meet or exceed service expectations
-
Adjust staffing levels based on business volumes
-
Maintain accurate records and reports as required

Ensure staff follow health and safety regulations

Assist Restaurant Manager with planning budgets, staff schedules, and accountability systems

Assist Restaurant Manager to develop and enforce policies and procedures to meet company and regulatory standards

Facilitate clear communication between front and back of house teams while taking ownership of all responsible areas

Meet daily deadlines of opening, creating, and posting table-talks for specials and produces sample dishes for pre-shifts in a timely manner and reviews nightly special postings, prep level reports, and critical inventory comparisons

Conduct regular quality checks on food and service

Monitor purchasing, staffing, and inventory to control product and labor costs and minimize waste, ensuring adherence to the budget

Monitor work areas to ensure cleanliness and respond to customer needs promptly

Ensure all stations are stocked and equipment is in good working condition

Performs other related duties as needed.

Skills and Requirements

3 years of supervisory experience in a high volume restaurant.

Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and maintain a valid gaming license
