Commercial Project Architect
Job Description
Job Description
About Us
Figurati Construction Group is a commercial building renovation firm performing tenant build-outs and building transformations across Northeast Ohio. We handle commercial assets, including retail, office, and industrial spaces. We handle all of the design and construction in-house. We are seeking a versatile, driven, and fully licensed Architect to lead our design operations, bring our plan creation entirely in-house, and spearhead our building permit workflows.
Position Overview
We are looking for a full-time, licensed Project Architect who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment. In this role, you will be the sole professional of record, transforming renovation concepts into full, code-compliant, and submission-ready construction document sets. You will directly manage the local municipal permitting process and oversee the design of basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) layouts under Ohio’s incidental practice parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan Generation: Own the design process from schematic phases to full construction documentation (CD sets) for commercial interior and exterior renovations.
- Code Compliance & Permitting: Conduct comprehensive zoning and Ohio Building Code analyses; coordinate directly with local building departments to clear plan examinations and secure permits swiftly.
- MEP & System Integration: Draft and review subordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing schematic designs to ensure seamless structural integration.
- Construction Coordination: Partner closely with internal project managers, field superintendents, and subcontractors to resolve design queries (RFIs) and adapt plans dynamically during construction.
- Site Evaluation: Conduct pre-design field measurements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Licensure: Active registration as an Architect in the State of Ohio (NCARB certification is a plus).
- Experience: Professional experience focusing on commercial building renovations or tenant fit-outs is preferred but not required.
- Technical Expertise: Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and standard 3D rendering platforms.
- MEP Knowledge: Foundational comprehension of commercial HVAC, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the Ohio Building Code, ADA guidelines, and municipal zoning frameworks.
- Traits: Organized, independent, and clear-spoken; comfortable handling multiple active building department submissions simultaneously.
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary with clear annual bonus structures.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision health coverage.
- 401(k) retirement matching program.
- Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.
- Reimbursement for professional license renewals and AIA/NCARB dues.
