Landscape Designer

Abbruzzese Brothers Inc. is a design-driven landscape firm specializing in residential and commercial projects, including site planning, planting design, hardscape, sustainable landscapes, and outdoor living spaces. We deliver creative, functional, and ecologically responsible landscapes through collaborative design and skilled implementation.

We’re seeking a creative, detail-oriented Landscape Designer to develop conceptual and construction-level plans, produce planting and hardscape designs, coordinate with clients and contractors, and support project delivery from concept through installation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet with clients to understand goals, site constraints, budget, and timeline.
• Produce conceptual designs, schematic plans, planting plans, grading and drainage plans, material/specification documents, and construction details.
• Create presentation materials: sketches, renderings, mood boards, planting palettes, and detailed CAD or BIM drawings.
• Prepare cost estimates, scope documents, and bid packages; assist with project proposals.
• Coordinate with landscape architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure constructability and design intent.
• Conduct site analyses and site visits during design and oversee during construction phases.
• Incorporate sustainable practices (water-wise design, native planting, stormwater management) and adhere to local codes and permitting requirements.
• Maintain project records, schedules, and client communications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3-5 years’ landscape design experience (firm, contractor, or design-build preferred).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or Rhino; experience with 3D rendering preferred.
• Strong plant knowledge, planting and hardscape design skills, installation practices, understanding of construction detailing, and working with hardscape products.
• Excellent graphic, presentation, written, verbal communication skills, and strong sales ability.
• Organized, self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to perform site visits.

Preferred:

• Experience with specification writing, cost estimating, and construction administration.
• Familiarity with sustainable certification programs and permaculture/low-impact design principles.
