Construction Project Engineer

What You’ll Do

📁 Project Documentation & Controls

• Manage document control for plans, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, POs, proposals, RFQs, and other project documentation
• Develop and maintain tracking logs and cost databases
• Monitor scope changes for compliance and pricing accuracy
• Process field change orders, RFPs, and RFIs
• Support preparation and submission of as-built drawings

🏗 Preconstruction Support

• Assist the Project Manager with preconstruction planning
• Help establish project scopes and bid set specifications
• Support trade bid solicitation and subcontractor coordination

🚧 Construction Phase Coordination

• Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day project management
• Participate and present in OAC and weekly contractor progress meetings
• Track and support close-out documentation, including operations manuals

📈 Business Development

• Participate in RFQ/RFP responses and project interviews
• Assist in identifying and developing future job opportunities

🦺 Safety Commitment

• Support and reinforce project safety policies in the field
• Report safety observations and violations to the Project Superintendent

Requirements

What You Bring

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Project Engineer with a construction company (Required)
• 2–4 years of related construction experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent experience

Technical Skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Proficiency (or willingness to quickly become proficient) in Procore

Professional Skills

• Strong ability to read and interpret technical, legal, and construction documents
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable presenting in meetings and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform site visits and meet the physical demands typical of active construction environments
