Essential Skills

  • Machine operating experience with at least 3 or more recent years in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift operating experience for material handling and transport.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production documentation.
  • Proficiency using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers to verify dimensions.
  • Hands-on experience with machine operation in a production setting, including setup and basic adjustments.
  • Capability to operate band saws and similar cutting equipment as part of the production process.
  • Experience working with steel or other heavy industrial materials.
  • Ability to operate machines with control panels and follow defined process parameters.
  • Willingness and ability to work assigned shifts, including night shifts and overtime, in a large steel facility.
  • Commitment to safety practices and proper use of steel toe footwear and other protective equipment.

  • Experience running furnaces, particularly annealing furnaces, in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with operating multiple machines across different production areas.
  • Comfort working with overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment on a regular basis.
  • Ability to follow detailed work orders and coordinate with laboratory personnel for steel sample testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when measuring, packaging, and labeling materials.
  • Reliability in attendance, which supports eligibility for attendance-based bonuses.
  • Interest in contributing to a changing and improving culture within a manufacturing environment.
