Employees of Darke County Recovery Services, DBA Recovery and Wellness Centers of Midwest Ohio are expected to value highest ethical standards, quality clinical care, and good customer service. We also value quality communication skills in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary and often multi-agency service environment.
Benefits

Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities:- Peer Counseling & Support:
- Use personal recovery experience to validate and support clients’ journeys.
- Offer hope and encouragement to youth and families.
- Assist clients in identifying strengths and setting recovery goals.
- Mentorship & Advocacy:
- Serve as a role model for recovery and wellness.
- Advocate for client needs within the IHBT team.
- Help clients navigate systems such as healthcare, education, and social services.
- Skill Building & Daily Living Support:
- Support clients in developing coping strategies and life skills.
- Assist with tasks such as transportation, scheduling appointments, and accessing resources.
- Encourage participation in community and social activities.
- Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with IHBT clinicians and case managers.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
- Crisis Support:
- Provide emotional support during crises.
- Participate in on-call rotations if required.
Qualifications:
- Certified Peer Support Specialist (or eligible for certification).
- Lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery.
- Experience working with youth and families preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and basic computer skills.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. However, this position works in the community including private residences, etc. Ability to maneuver over uneven or cluttered surfaces required. Ability to tolerate noxious smells, pets, etc. sometimes required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear, sometimes in harsh weather conditions. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have a valid driver's license to drive a motor vehicle and a safe driving record. Employee must be comfortable driving vehicle in varied weather conditions found in the geographic region and must be willing to transport clients to various locations within and outside of the county.
