Join our dedicated dental anesthesia team as an Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic, where your expertise will be greatly appreciated caring for those in urgent need of dental care. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to work in our fast-paced office environment. We have a need for a preoperative assistant for mobile dental anesthesiology practice. We provide general anesthesia for adults and children in dental offices and surgical centers. Job duties include placing monitors on patients, preoperative vital assessment, assisting in airway management, assisting in IV placement, observing patients in the post-anesthesia recovery area, emergency assistance and managing anesthesia equipment. We will provide on the job training for dental specific flow.

Work location: Around Columbus, Ohio (Lancaster, Gahanna)

Pay is $30/hour over 8 hours. Usually 7:30 start time with days ending around 1-2 PM. Position is part-time based on office needs. Does not include employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced pre-hospital emergency medical care to patients in diverse settings, including trauma scenes, hospitals, and transport environments
• Must hold current certification in ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine severity and prioritize treatment
• Manage airway interventions using techniques such as airway management devices and intubation when necessary
• Administer medications via injection or other routes following established protocols and ensure proper medication documentation
• Perform critical care procedures such as venipuncture, medication administration, and aseptic techniques to maintain patient safety
• Operate emergency vehicles responsibly, adhering to traffic laws while handling heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks during patient extrication or transfer
• Collaborate with hospital staff during triage and handoff processes at Level I Trauma Centers and other medical facilities to ensure seamless continuity of care

Requirements

• Valid EMT certification with current licensure as a Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience in urgent care or emergency room settings
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and emergency medicine protocols
• Proficiency in patient assessment skills including vital signs monitoring and physical examinations
• Experience with airway management techniques
• Ability to perform venipuncture, medication administration, and injection techniques accurately and aseptically
