This role is currently based in Brecksville, Ohio. Please note that Lubrizol has announced plans to transition operations to Wickliffe, Ohio in 2028. Employees in this role are expected to transition to the Wickliffe location at that time.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Jr. Scientist, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving new ingredient and concept development for the homecare market. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable solutions that improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.

In This Role, You Will:

• Work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional project teams to introduce new value-added solutions to the homecare market.
• Plan, organize, and conduct experiments to develop new formulations, concepts, and technical literature to support global product launches.
• Conduct and manage scientific experiments, accurately recording, interpreting, and analyzing data, including use of Design of Experiments (DOE).
• Support development of novel testing methodologies and optimizations, especially automation.
• Participate in lab management including inventory and SOP management.
• Communicate results and recommendations to project and leadership teams.
• Train internal colleagues, distributors, and customers on new concepts and product launches.
• Follow safe laboratory practices.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• 1–5 years of experience formulating and testing homecare ingredients or products.
• Ability to work both individually and in team settings within an agile environment.
• Ability to plan and organize multiple assignments with minimal-to-moderate supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with high motivation and results orientation.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Committed to safe laboratory practices.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed to support commercialization of new products.
