Wellness Director ALF
- Clinical Leadership & Oversight
- Oversee daily clinical operations, including nursing and wellness services.
- Ensure individualized care plans are developed, implemented, and updated.
- Monitor residents’ health status and coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
- Conduct regular health assessments and wellness checks.
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), state Department of Health).
- Prepare for and participate in surveys and inspections.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures consistent with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee infection control and safety protocols.
- Staff Management
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing and wellness staff.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet resident needs.
- Provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Resident & Family Engagement
- Communicate regularly with residents and families regarding care plans and health concerns.
- Address and resolve resident or family concerns promptly.
- Promote wellness initiatives that enhance quality of life.
- Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
- Monitor clinical outcomes and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Track key performance indicators such as falls, medication errors, infections, and hospital readmissions.
- Budget & Resource Management
- Assist in developing and managing the department budget.
- Monitor medical supplies and equipment inventory.
- Ensure cost-effective use of resources without compromising care quality.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state-specific).
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical leadership experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or assisted living.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
- Strong knowledge of geriatric care practices and regulatory standards.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of infection control standards.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Compassionate, resident-centered approach.
