The Industrial Mechanic maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs packaging manufacturing equipment in a high-volume production environment. This role ensures optimal equipment performance, reduces unplanned downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives across the production area.

Up to $35/hour + Weekly Pay!

1st Shift

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on packaging manufacturing equipment, including conveyors, fillers, sealers, and automated systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and complete timely repairs to maintain production efficiency.
  • Work closely with production teams to respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and identify potential failures before they occur.
  • Install, align, and calibrate machinery and mechanical components to meet production and quality standards.
  • Maintain and repair motors, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, and other machine components.
  • Assist with equipment changeovers, line setups, and adjustments to support changing production schedules.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation to support reliability and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and overall production efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies at all times.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on equipment upgrades, modifications, and process improvements.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience as an industrial mechanic or maintenance technician in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with production, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance on packaging or manufacturing equipment.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility with a dynamic and structured production environment. You work around high-volume packaging equipment, including conveyors, fillers, sealers, and automated systems, where efficiency, safety, and adherence to procedures are essential. The setting involves hands-on mechanical work on the production floor, regular interaction with production and engineering teams, and compliance with established safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures.

The pay range for this position is $64480.00 - $74880.00/yr.
