A metal service center is seeking a Slitter Machine Operator to work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Duties:

Prior to starting machine every morning, ensure all safety mechanisms are functioning properly
Transport material to entry section, check coil according to work card, attach label with width, thickness, and coil ID and if necessary change ID
Calculate and setup arbor according to work card
Setup over arm spacer rolls according to setup
Set coil on uncoiler and expand mandrel
Open Coil and feed strip to side guide rolls
Lock knife arbor, feed strip in arbor, set de-burring rolls, and cut off any rust or defects
Check width and thickness according to work order, if necessary check camber, crossbow, hardness and document on quality sheets
Prepare tension stand with felts, tie scrap, feed strip through tension stand, and check constantly strip surface visually
Perform visual quality check of strip surface, close tension stand, and check pressure
Change mode to operation, run coil until brake or in full, check constantly strip surface, and report quality issues to supervisor
Perform other duties as needed

Job Qualifications:

Must be able to operate a slitter machine
Must have the ability to calculate and setup arbor according to work card
Must be able to check width and thickness according to work order
The ability to perform visual quality check of strip surface, close tension stand, and check pressure is required
Must be safety-conscious and detail-oriented
Must be dependable with a solid work history
