Lead Cable Technician

BASIC DUTIES:

Senior -level position that leads a team of network technicians in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining network systems.

Key responsibilities

A lead network technician's duties include both hands-on technical work and team supervision.

Common responsibilities include: Team management: Leading projects, delegating tasks to junior technicians, and providing technical guidance and mentoring.

Network maintenance: Analyzing, testing, and troubleshooting network systems such as LANs (Local Area Networks), WANs (Wide Area Networks), and cloud networks to ensure minimal interruption.

Problem-solving: Diagnosing and resolving complex network issues using specialized diagnostic tools and equipment.

Project management: Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of technical network projects.

Performance monitoring: Monitoring network performance for high availability and resolving connectivity problems.

Security: Helping to establish secure networks and mitigate vulnerabilities.

Documentation: Preparing clear instructions and updating maintenance records.

Pull, Place, Terminate, and Label Copper & Fiber.

Build cable pathways & Install support structures.

Tone, Test, and Troubleshoot cables.

Provide efficient & effective solutions for all customer issues.

Install cabinets, racks, patch panels, fiber enclosures, and misc hardware.

Install Grounding, as required by NECA or BICSI-607.

Responsibly manage tracking & use of all installation tools & materials

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
