Precision CNC Milling Machinist — VMC Specialist
Location: Austintown, OH
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 10-hour off-shift with a flexible start between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM
A Day in the Role
You arrive for your chosen start time, review the work orders and blueprints for the evening, and set up your CNC mill with the correct tooling. You validate offsets, run a first-article piece, and dial in the program until the part hits the spec — holding tolerances to .001". Throughout your shift, you monitor cycle times, make subtle edits to G-code as needed, document results, and partner with teammates to keep production moving safely and efficiently. Before heading out, you perform routine machine care to keep the next run humming.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to meet exact specifications and quality targets.
- Decode and apply information from blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Continuously monitor machining operations, making adjustments to maintain quality and throughput.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures without compromise.
- Record production data and machine performance accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with peers to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Use measuring tools properly, including a tape measure, micrometer, vernier, or caliper.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in CNC machining preferred.
- Hands-on experience as a CNC Mill Operator or similar machining role.
- Solid grasp of CNC programming and G-code fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret complex technical documents and blueprints.
- Proven capability to hold tolerances to .001".
- Knowledge of quality standards and use of precision measurement tools.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving aptitude, and clear communication.
- Team-first mindset and reliability in a production environment.
