Slitter Operator | 25+HR

Job Title: Slitter Operator (1st or 2nd Shift) ($20-25/hr.)

Job Description

Join a dedicated small team to operate or assist in the operation of the slitting line. This role requires basic math skills, the ability to read work instructions and setup sheets, and proficiency in using measurement tools like tape measures, micrometers, and calipers. You will work efficiently to complete work orders, maintain product quality, and adhere to safety guidelines while ensuring a clean work environment.

1st Shift - 10:00am to 8:30pm Monday through Thursday

2nd Shift - 2:15pm to 12:45am Monday through Thursday

Responsibilities

• Operate or assist in the operation of the slitting line as part of a small team.
• Perform basic math and read work instructions/setup sheets.
• Use tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to test tolerances.
• Work efficiently to complete work orders within required timeframes.
• Maintain all aspects of product quality.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment.
• Follow safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Complete housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean work environment.
• Work overtime when required.
• Lift and carry up to 50lbs.

Essential Skills

• High School degree, GED, or related educational equivalent.
• 1 year of slitting or CTL experience.
• Fork-lift, overhead crane, and basic computer skills (MIS/Scanner).
• Ability to be trained to work on Pack Line/Rewinder as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with steel or similar materials.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic arithmetic.
• General computer literacy.
• Ability to interpret and communicate written and verbal instructions.

Work Environment

The facility is clean and well-lit, located conveniently right off the highway. The hours are from 2:15pm to 12:45am, with potential training shifts from 10am to 8:30pm if a split shift is needed.

This is a Permanent position based out of Garfield Heights, OH.

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $50000.00/yr.
