Position Summary

Under general supervision, Lifeguards ensure the safety of all Goldfish Swim School members and guests by preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards are expected to maintain a professional appearance, provide excellent customer service, and help create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for every family.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of all patrons in the facility
• Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies and safety concerns
• Communicate and enforce facility rules fairly and consistently
• Provide emergency care and treatment until emergency medical services arrive
• Contact EMS or emergency personnel when necessary
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times
• Deliver outstanding customer service to students and families
• Complete accident and incident reports as required
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility
• Assist with closing and securing the facility
• Work one Swim Instructor shift per week
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications preferred
• Goldfish Swim School can provide lifeguard certification training for qualified candidates
• Preferred minimum of 6 months of lifeguarding experience at an aquatic facility or camp

Work Environment

While performing this job, employees are regularly exposed to heat and humidity. The noise level is typically moderate.

Certificates & Licenses

• Must maintain current Lifeguarding certification
• Must maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
