POSITION OVERVIEW
The Honeywell Controls Engineer is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing Honeywell Distributed Control Systems from an off-site location. This role provides remote system administration, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and technical guidance to plant operations teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. The ideal candidate has deep Honeywell DCS expertise and thrives working independently while collaborating virtually with cross-functional teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Remotely administer, configure, and maintain Honeywell DCS platforms, including:
oHoneywell Experion PKS
oHoneywell PHD (Process History Database)
oHoneywell Safety Manager (as applicable)
*Oversee system performance, data integrity, and availability through remote monitoring tools.
*Execute remote backups, patches, upgrades, and cybersecurity compliance tasks.
*Support real-time and historical data collection, trending, and reporting.
*Troubleshoot DCS hardware, software, networking, and interface issues using remote access tools.
*Coordinate remote change management, documentation updates, and MOC processes.
*Provide virtual support during plant startups, shutdowns, and abnormal operating events.
*Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams through virtual meetings and remote-access platforms.
*Deliver remote training and guidance to plant personnel on system best practices.
*Ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
*Extensive hands-on experience with Honeywell DCS environments, including Experion PKS and Honeywell PHD.
*Strong understanding of control system architecture, industrial networking, and communication protocols.
*Prior experience supporting production or industrial facilities (chemical, refining, power, manufacturing, etc.).
*Ability to perform detailed troubleshooting and system diagnostics via remote tools.
*Strong communication, documentation, and time-management skills suitable for remote work.

PREFERRED:
*Familiarity with Honeywell TDC3000, Uniformance, Safety Manager, or related legacy systems.
*Knowledge of OPC, Modbus, industrial network design, and cybersecurity frameworks (ISA/IEC 62443).
*Bachelor"s degree in Engineering, IT, Automation, or related discipline.
