Position : Bed Maintenance Technician
Location : Rocky Gardens Landscape Group, LLC - Beloit, Ohio
Reports To : Operations Manager

Job Overview: The Landscape Bed Maintenance Crew is responsible for the ongoing care and upkeep of landscape beds, ensuring they remain healthy, aesthetically pleasing, and free of weeds. The role requires knowledge of horticulture, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Weeding & Weed Control : Regularly remove weeds from landscape beds using hand tools or mechanical equipment, ensuring the beds remain tidy and healthy.
• Pruning & Deadheading : Trim and prune shrubs, bushes, and perennials to promote healthy growth and maintain an attractive appearance.
• Mulching : Apply mulch to landscape beds to retain moisture, suppress weed growth, and enhance the aesthetic appeal.
• Plant Health Monitoring : Assess the health of plants and recommend corrective actions for any issues like nutrient deficiencies or damage.
• Planting : Assist in planting new flowers, shrubs, and trees when necessary, following landscape design plans.
• Seasonal Maintenance : Prepare landscape beds for seasonal changes, such as cleaning up leaves in fall or winterizing plants in colder months.
• Clean-Up & Debris Removal : Ensure that landscape beds are free of debris such as leaves, trash, and clippings after maintenance.
• Customer Interaction : Occasionally interact with clients, providing updates on the condition of their landscape and suggesting improvements or enhancements.

Qualifications:

• Experience in landscape maintenance or horticulture.
• Knowledge of local plants, soil types, and growing conditions.
• Ability to operate landscape equipment (weed trimmers, hedge trimmers, backpack blowers, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of pests and plant diseases, as well as their management preferred.
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Compensation :
Hourly wage based on experience and starts at $17-$19 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and performance-based incentive bonuses.
