PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025)
• Clinical Setting: Neuro Surgery Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30); rotating weeknights, weekends, and holidays
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1940–$1990
• Patient Ratio: 1:3-4
• Floating: Required to float to other hospital units as needed
• Orientation: 24 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or Med-Surg RN experience (required for travel nurse jobs)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state license
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (required for PCU nursing jobs)
• EPIC charting experience (required)
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float to various units as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon contract signing
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leader)

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients with neurological and medical conditions
• Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as epilepsy, stroke, Guillain-Barre, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and traumatic brain injury
• Perform and manage specialized procedures including lumbar drains and EVD monitoring
• Administer medications, manage cardiac and insulin drips, and provide blood product administration
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, and social services
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC
• Float to other hospital units as required
• Participate in rotating holidays and up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
