Precision CNC Grinder Machinist

Join the Cleveland Thomson/Nook Division and own the grinding process from setup to final inspection. If you like making real parts to exact specs and keeping production humming, this role is for you.

Role highlights

• Configure and set up centerless grinding equipment for production runs.
• Operate CNC/centerless grinders to meet ISO 9001 and internal quality standards.
• Perform in-process and final inspections to blueprint; deburr and correct defects.
• Transfer finished parts to the next workstation and keep the cell organized.
• Uphold 5S principles for a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Education: One-year certificate from a college or technical school preferred.
• Experience: 6 months to 1 year of related machining/grinding experience or training.
• Core abilities: Follow written and verbal instructions; strong mechanical aptitude and math.
• Measurement: Skilled with micrometers and calipers; understands surface footage and feed rates; calculates feeds and speeds.
• Blueprint literacy: Completion of a blueprint reading course is required.

• Hiring for 1st & 2nd shift.
• Work Location: In person (Cleveland, OH 44125)
• Ability to Commute: Cleveland, OH 44125 (Required)
• Ability to Relocate: Cleveland, OH 44125 — Relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Physical requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, and sitting; regular use of hands; reaching; talking/hearing.
• Occasional climbing/balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral; ability to adjust focus.
