Data Engineer

100% On Site in Cincinnati, Ohio

We are looking for an enthusiastic Data Engineer who demonstrates great communication skills, curiosity, and a desire to learn a new business and its supporting technical processes. This is an exciting role to support modern Data solutions.

Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance. W2 Rate $30-$39/hr

• Handle the design and construction of scalable management systems, ensure that all data systems meet company requirements, and also research new uses for data acquisition.
• Required to know and understand the ins and outs of the industry such as data mining practices, algorithms, and how data can be used.
• Design, construct, install, test and maintain data management systems.
• Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes.
• Ensure that all systems meet the business/company requirements as well as industry practices.
• Integrate up-and-coming data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures.
• Develop set processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
• Create custom software components and analytics applications. Research new uses for existing data.
• Employ an array of technological languages and tools to connect systems together.
• Collaborate with members of your team (eg, data architects, the IT team, data scientists) on the project’s goals.
• Install/update disaster recovery procedures.
• Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality.

Must-have technical skill sets, in priority order:

1. Snowflake – Modern data warehousing
2. dbt – SQL-based transformations, testing, and documentation.
3. DataStage – Legacy ETL support during migration.
4. SQL – Advanced queries and optimization.
5. ETL/ELT Development – Pipeline design and orchestration.
6. CI/CD – Git-based deployment and automation

Nice-to-have technical skill set: 

• AWS / Azure / GCP – Cloud storage, compute, and IAM fundamentals.
• Python & Shell scripting – Automation and data processing.
• Data Modeling – Normalized and dimensional models.
• Data Validation Frameworks – e.g., dbt tests or Great Expectations.
• Metadata Management – Cataloging and lineage tracking.
• REST / SOAP APIs – Integration with external systems

Candidate must demonstrate great communication skills, curiosity, and a desire to learn a new business and its supporting technical processes. Three or more years of applied technical experience desired.

Qualifications: Technical Degree or related work experience.
