PICU RN Job Details – Columbus, OH

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43205 (Ohio healthcare jobs)
• Setting: Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVPICU)
• Start Date: October 13, 2025
• End Date: January 12, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2470-$2540
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 (days, nights, weekends)
• Unit Size: 20 beds, average daily census of 13

PICU RN Qualifications

• Active Ohio or Compact Registered Nurse license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience (experience in a 30+ bed PICU preferred)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (required for pediatric nursing jobs)
• Proficient in arterial line management, chest tube care, intubation assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator management, central line care, hemodynamic monitoring, pediatric dosage calculations, post-cardiac surgery care, tracheostomy care
• 2 supervisory references (at least one from a manager or supervisor)
• Ability to float to NICU, PICU, ED, stepdown, and med-surg units as needed
• Cannot have worked permanent for the facility within the last 2 years
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius from the facility (no local candidates)

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill pediatric patients with complex cardiac and medical conditions
• Monitor and manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and advanced pediatric equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams, respiratory therapists, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other critical care and acute care units as required, adapting to various patient populations and acuity levels
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in patient care planning and rounds
• Adhere to all hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards
