  • Edit G and M code programs directly at the machine to improve part quality, optimize cycle times, and resolve machining issues.
  • Perform machine offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and ensure parts meet engineering specifications.
  • Perform multiple setups and run multiple CNC machines during a shift to support production demands.
  • Modify machine speeds and feeds as needed to optimize tool life, surface finish, and overall machining performance.
  • Assist other machinists with full machine setups using setup sheets, setup cards, and other documented procedures.
  • Work from process sheets, blueprints, setup sheets, setup cards, machine status boards, and both verbal and written instructions to complete assigned work.
  • Machine, install, or re-cut components as required to meet design and quality requirements.
  • Insert and secure tooling in machine turrets and perform complete machine setups, including tool selection and tool length/radius offsets.
  • Download and upload CNC programs to and from machines and make minor programming adjustments as needed.
  • Operate various types of computerized numerical control equipment to manufacture finished products using a wide range of machining operations.
  • Inspect own work using appropriate measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to quality and quantity standards.
  • Inspect the work of other machinists when required to support quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Enter production and quality data accurately into the ERP system to maintain up-to-date records.
  • Rotate between different machines and departments as needed, including potential operation of CNC mills, grinders, and other equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with shop standards and procedures.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6 years of CNC lathe machining experience in a production or job shop environment.
  • Proven experience machining on CNC lathes such as Samsung and Doosan, or similar turning centers.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and make edits to G and M code programs directly at the machine.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform full setup of CNC machinery, including tooling, offsets, and program loading.
  • Proficiency in performing machine offset adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Ability to adjust machine speeds and feeds to optimize machining performance and part quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and process documentation with a high level of accuracy.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC setup, CNC troubleshooting, and CNC program editing.
  • Experience troubleshooting CNC machines, including Mazak equipment or similar platforms.
  • High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working within tight tolerance machining environments, ideally for aerospace or similarly demanding industries.
  • Comfort working from setup sheets, setup cards, and machine status boards in a structured production environment.
  • Familiarity with entering production and quality information into an ERP system.
  • Ability to assist and mentor other machinists with setup and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
