Sales Engineer, Apprentice
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s mission, values, products, and operations.
- Participate in all required sales training programs to ensure comprehensive product knowledge and the application of effective sales techniques.
- Demonstrate a commitment to improving sales skills by engaging fully in all coaching and training activities provided by management.
- Work with sales engineers, applications engineers, and service technicians to understand product specifications and system design.
- Provide technical support to customers before sales by identifying needs and connecting customers with suitable solutions.
- Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and technical discussions.
- Learn about pricing, quoting, and contract negation under supervision.
- Support the preparation of sales presentations, product demonstrations, and technical proposals.
- Stay up to date with company products, industry trends, and competitors.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities in HubSpot, our CRM system.
- Aid and support at trade shows and company sponsored technical training seminars or events.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Currently enrolled or recently completed a technical or engineering apprenticeship, college, or university program (e.g. Mechanical Engineering).
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and product design.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused attitude with problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interest in sales, engineering, business development, and technology.
- Ability to collaborate within a team and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with CRM software is a plus.
- Must be able to travel out of state for training and on-the-job experience.
- Must be willing to relocate to a position within the company where business need is determined.
- Practical experience in technical sales and engineering.
- Mentorship from experiences Sales Engineers and Sales Managers.
- Exposure to real-world customer projects and commercial processes.
- Opportunity to progress into a permanent Sales Engineer role upon completion of the apprenticeship.
- Office & manufacturing work environment which includes moving mechanical machine parts, potentially loud equipment, with exposure to a variety of non-hazardous and hazardous chemicals and airborne particles.
- Monitor viewing and data entry using assigned lap top computer or mobile application
- Internal/external customer communications with vendor contact
- Some overnight travel with customers for corporate or builder visits
- Travel by automobile or airplane
