The mission of Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund (OP&F) is “securing the future for Ohio’s police and firefighters,” and every position contributes toward that mission. Available College Internship Assignments for 2026 include the following.

• Finance : Analyzing budget information, general ledger reconciliation, accounts receivable and accounts payable, fixed assets, financial reporting using Excel, Power-BI, and Workiva
• Information Technology: helpdesk, phishing, and system access review tickets
• Investments : Research, investment software implementation project , assist with Investment staff on an as needed basis

MISSION CONTRIBUTION: Seasonal work performed ties to the mission of "securing the future for Ohio's police and firefighters" by using classroom learning and work experience to complete duties necessary to the operations of OP&F. As a result, OP&F develops a pipeline of talent for future open positions and students gain work experience related to their stated career interest.

SUMMARY: Seasonal college interns will be assigned to functional groups based on desired career interest and OP&F assignment availability. Assignments include, but are not limited to: projects, research, operational functions, and administrative duties. The following functional groups are seeking interns, and a general overview of assignments is provided.

INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Adhering to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior.
• Adhering to company policies governing the observation of confidentiality and the handling of confidential information.
• Assuming personal and professional responsibilities for actions and activities.
• Maintaining professional relationships with company employees, vendors, members, and so forth.
• Utilizing a courteous, enthusiastic, open-minded, critical approach to policies and procedures within the profession.
• Relating and applying knowledge acquired in the academic setting to the company setting.
• Preparing for and utilizing training and other opportunities of learning afforded in the company.
• Being consistent and punctual in the submission of all work assignments to the supervisor.

Education:
Students must be 18 years of age or older. A student will be deemed eligible for an internship after completing freshman year classes at an accredited college or university. Students must be able to produce grades for the most current courses completed.

Language:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from coworkers.

Reasoning:
Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
