About the Role

As our Senior Staff Accountant, you’ll handle the daily accounting operations that keep our business running smoothly—everything from AR and AP to month-end close and financial reporting. You’ll work closely with our Controller and cross-departmental leaders to ensure accuracy, transparency, and continuous improvement across all accounting functions.

This role offers the best of both worlds: hands-on accounting responsibility with exposure to strategy, systems, and process improvement—without direct supervisory responsibilities.

What You’ll Do

• Perform daily accounting operations including AR, AP, and GL reconciliation
• Prepare and post journal entries; ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings
• Support financial reporting and analysis for leadership
• Partner with HR to ensure payroll accuracy and proper expense allocations
• Maintain fixed-asset schedules and depreciation entries
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts
• Assist with audits, budgeting, and process documentation
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and implement automation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience (multi-entity or project-based industry preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger, and month-end close
• Experienced with Quickbooks
• Experience with accounting and payroll systems
• Proficiency in Excel and comfort with technology and automation tools
• Bonus points if you’ve worked in landscaping, construction, or a similar service industry
