When a critical jig cracks or a machine part fails, you step in. You choose the right process—TIG for precision, MIG for throughput, oxy-acetylene for flexibility, or brazing for the perfect bond—then plan your sequence so the component stays true. You own the quality, confirming leak-tight results and signing off your final inspection before the part heads back to the line.

Responsibilities

• Repair and fabricate tools, machine components, jigs, and fixtures using the appropriate welding method.
• Safely operate automatic welding machinery to meet production needs.
• Perform TIG welding and aluminum brazing to high standards.
• Use oxy-acetylene, GTAW, GMAW, and other processes as required.
• Set up from prints/drawings and fixtures; engineer weld order to minimize distortion.
• Achieve leak-proof results and complete final inspection of all work performed.
• Maintain bench stock and keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Leverage basic machining and mechanical assembly skills.
• Support additional production and maintenance duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Welder (required).
• High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training is an advantage.
• 1–3 years of welding/fabrication experience preferred.
• Knowledge of welding techniques, metal fabrication methods, and blueprint interpretation.
• Strong manual dexterity, a keen eye for detail, and solid problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Judgment to perform work safely and accurately.

Physical Requirements & Work Setting

• Lift up to 50 lbs; push or pull up to 70 lbs.
• Remain standing for long periods; bend and twist as needed for tasks.
• Operate within a machine shop environment; exposure to dust, sand, and dirt is possible.
• PPE must be worn as required.
